Jules Moigniez (1835-1894) was a French artist especially known for his highly-detailed sculptures of birds. This bronze depicts a falcon at the moment of capturing its prey. The falcon’s wings are extended, one talon grasping the small bird, with the other outstretched. Although a restrike, the bronze is of high quality, with exacting details.
It is mounted on a striated green marble base. Size: 28” tall, 16” base, 19” wide wing span.
